We had the best time with Ava during her Senior session! Around half an hour into our session we started getting a little rain so we decided to reschedule for the next evening, and I am so glad we did! The light was beautiful in the field.

There are so many epic locations to pop the question!

We met this couple near Lake James for their engagement session yesterday and I could tell right away that they were going to be easy and super fun to photograph.
Heath and Avery seemed to anticipate every prompt and pose I sent their way and they made it look so effortless!

We had a ton of fun last night at Chloe's Senior session.
We dodged a couple of storms, which lately seem to be an every day occurrence! Chloe is a natural and the camera just loves her big smile.
The whole day had been scattered showers and at the beginning of our session we even had a little bit of rain,
but we waited a few minutes and it cleared right up.
Josh and I are so thankful to be doing what we do. It's hard work, but
also so very rewarding.
We get to be with couples and their families on one of the most important days of their lives. We get to witness both the love between them and the love their families share for them. We are privy to dozens of toasts and speeches which include both heartfelt stories and wild & embarrassing anecdotes about the bride & grooms childhood.
These were my thoughts as we arrived at Zimmerwald Estate this past Saturday
for Emma & Tylers most special day. This was our third time visiting this gorgeous venue which has so many beautiful locations.

past few months with meetings, a bomb bridal session and emails.

The day started out with a beautiful ceremony
at The Mountain Gateway Museum in Old Fort, NC. Mary & Robert
were surrounded by so many friends and family and you could really just feel the love.
After portraits everyone headed over to The White Horse in Black Mountain
for food, dancing and lots of fun. They even got a chance to break out their

]]>We loved this couple right from the start. They are so good natured and you can tell they really enjoy being with each other and making each other laugh.
On the day of the wedding we arrived at beautiful Myers Mountain Home, just outside of Asheville NC, just in time to catch the final details of the bride and groom getting ready for their first look. We often recommend First Looks to our couples because it allows us to get the formals and group shots taken care of so they can get to the reception quicker. The bride and groom also get to have a few moments alone together to really feel the joy of the day.
We immediately felt at ease with these two and had so much fun during their formals. Hunter is quite the jokester and had us all cracking up the whole time. During the ceremony they exchanged rings and shared vows they had written themselves. Pretty much everyone teared up during the vows(including me!) I'm a softy :) After dinner there was plenty of time for dancing and these people really know how to get down!

Let's give it up for one special & amazing couple, who just so happen to be newlyweds. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ollis!
Josh and I absolutely loved photographing Chris & Patty's wedding on May 16th at Lake Eden in Black Mountain NC.
We met the couple for the first time when we took their engagement photos at Lake James in Marion NC, which is Chris's hometown, and we hit it off. They had no problem being romantic and we had such an amazing session. Here's a few images from that session.
Their wedding day was just incredible.
The B & G were surrounded by family and friends to show their support for
this new adventure in their lives. The brides siblings, along with the grooms brother and friends made a fun and gorgeous wedding party.
The grooms daughter came down the aisle with balloons, which she released
after the first kiss and his son also served as his best man. So sweet! It was a beautiful ceremony which was topped off by Chris and Patty riding off on their Harley. #soromantic
After the ceremony the guests all went to the reception which was held at The Barns at Lake Eden(such a beautiful rustic location). There were drinks, food, and lots of dancing as everyone celebrated the love between Chris and Patty. The night ended with a sparkler exit and the bride and groom riding off to begin their
new lives together.

I decided it was time to change that! I contacted Emileigh, who is a phenom hairstylist at Nu Wave Hair Salon btw, and asked her if she would would like to model for us. She enthusiastically agreed and we decided on a bohemian-ish theme for our shoot. Gorgeous Lake James felt like the right place.
Em showed up gorgeous & dressed perfectly,and just a tish nervous....but not for long. :)
We had a ton of fun trying out new poses and lighting, and as I showed her the back of my camera she could not believe that it was her! Her soul was shining, and she was able to see what other people see in her.

Megan & Jonathan- I met my fiance when I was having a hard time getting everything together in life. From the start I didn't really trust him because I had been hurt before but he still kept loving me. After a few months I honestly fell head over heels in love. And him being in the army just made it all that much better. It was pretty fast but after about 4 months of being together we learned about our little boy. We are naming him Kamdyn Wayne and he is expected on May 16th. He has asked me several times over the months to marry him and for my Christmas present he let me go and pick out the ring I wanted!! :) He's my best friend and the love of my life and I can't wait to spend forever with him!! :)

Keely & Robbie-This is Robbie and I at ocracoke island a year ago. We have been together for 4-1/2 years now and are getting married October 10th, 2015. When I met Robbie, we had an instant connection. This guy has literally done everything in his power to make me happy and support me. He's a hard worker for the community in law enforcement. He supported me through school and all of my endeavors. He's even working extra right now to help pay for the wedding. I'm an animal lover and he stuck by my side in rescuing a dog and a cat. Every vacation we go on, he makes sure we do something animal related just to make me happy. He can make me laugh on the worst of days and he makes me a better person all around. Whitney & Caleb-This sweet little ginger soul stumbled into my life when I thought I'd given up! He was so shy and reserved and I... Was just the opposite! Haha he was exactly what I needed! When I first met Caleb I thought ..this guy doesn't really have a lot going for him. He wasn't going to school, he had no money, lived with his parents, and was an addicted video gamer! Never understood the video gaming deal -however he spent countless hours in front of the tv! BUT I changed all of that.. For the better, of course! 😊 Over the past 5 years we have grown not only as individuals but as a couple! ..with a little hard work of course. Caleb asked me to marry him June 18th 2014 on our stroll down the beach while the sun was setting and boy was I the happiest girl in the world! We now have had our own little "home sweet home" for 2 years! & he is going to financially support us while I return to nursing school in the fall. He is always giving without waiting for something in return. He has taught me how to love unconditionally and has given me so much to live for! This life isn't easy but having someone by your side to share it with, makes it so worth it. I can't wait to take his last name in September and start our journey together.

What an Amazing session we had with this beautiful young couple!
Hunter and Bethany are an example of why we love engagement sessions! They are so full of love for each other that it really shines through in their photos. Congratulations to Meredith and her wonderful Mom Anita:) Merediths win is extra special because she has had to overcome so many obstacles in her life, but has such a strong spirit and radiates beauty from the inside out. I contacted Anita and asked her to write a few words about her daughter. Here's what she wrote-
"Meredith was diagnosed with lung cancer when she was two, had surgery to remove a large tumor and about half of her left lung. She then had twenty two rounds of chemo. She stayed super strong thru all if it and was reasonably healthy for several years. When she was 7 years old she starting complaining of stomach pain and had a cough at night that we couldn't get rid of, she also had two random seizures. We made trip after trip, to every specialist you could imagine trying to find out what was wrong.
In September 2009, she was seen by her oncologist and had a CT scan that showed changes that were very atypical, usually seen in TB or Cystic Fibrosis. Since I had a cousin with CF, she was tested and came back positive. Since then Meredith has been in the hospital numerous times, and had several surgeries to treat her disease. She has to take medication to digest her food, and wear a mechanical vest twice daily to help her to clear her airways of sticky mucus so that she can breathe. In spite of monthly trips to UNC and many days that she feels like not getting out of bed Meredith keeps going. She is a fighter, and is determined that Cystic Fibrosis will not win. She can't play sports due to her physical limitations, but she manages the volleyball and softball teams, and stays on the B honor roll even though she sometimes misses a lot of school. She never stops smiling and refuses to let CF get her down. For Meredith,
CF just stands for Crazy Fabulous".

Ok, so it's now 2014 and I am FINALLY venturing into the world of Blogging! So, why did it take so long?
I have never been the greatest writer, and I'm more than a little self-conscious about it. Words flow from my brain in a disjointed, crazy, nonsensical way sometimes. There will be a lot of run on sentences, or just words thrown around (sometimes misspelled). It's my stream of consciousness, my camera is my real voice.
This time of year is typically a slower time for photographers. We finally get to catch our breath from the Holiday sessions and mad editing. I am using this time to put together new custom package options and will also be offering lots of new and exciting products. We started off the year with a really fun and really quick(it was Cold!) mini session. Christian was our 1,000th fan on our Facebook page and she won a surprise mini session with us. We were really hoping for some snow, but we only got cold:) If you're not a fan yet, head on over and give us a like. You never know, you may just win a gift! Here are a few images from our session.
